John Mulangeni Nkosi

Executive Director

Meet John Mulangeni Nkosi, the esteemed Executive Director of MAFECO. Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Cooperatives and Microfinance, John brings 30 years wealth of knowledge and experience to his pivotal role. Prior to his tenure at MAFECO, he dedicated 20 years to serving the Government of Malawi in the Ministry of Trade & Industries.

During his distinguished career, John ascended through the ranks, culminating in his appointment as the Principal Cooperative Management Officer. His extensive background reflects not only his commitment to the cooperative sector but also his proven ability to navigate the intricacies of trade and industry. Now, as the Executive Director of MAFECO, John leads the charge in steering our cooperative initiatives towards new heights of success

Portia Chirwa

Cooperative Development Officer

Meet Portia Chirwa, the dedicated Cooperative Development Officer overseeing the Southern Region at MAFECO. Armed with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Rural Community Development, Portia brings a unique blend of academic prowess and practical experience to her role.

In addition to her academic achievements, Portia holds a Diploma in Agriculture and a Diploma in Cooperative Development, further enriching her expertise in fostering sustainable community growth. Her commitment to cooperative development is underscored by a deep understanding of rural communities and a passion for creating positive change.

As a vital member of the MAFECO team, Portia plays a crucial role in driving cooperative initiatives in the Southern Region, contributing to the organization’s mission of empowering communities and promoting economic resilience.

Allie Twanje

Cooperative Development Officer

Introducing Allie Twanje, the diligent Cooperative Development Officer overseeing the Central and Northern Regions at MAFECO. Armed with a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree, Allie’s journey before joining MAFECO is marked by a wealth of professional experience.
 
Prior to his role at MAFECO, Allie served as an Accountant at Eagle Insurance Brokers Limited, showcasing his proficiency in financial management. His expertise further expanded as he took on the role of an Internal Auditor at SGS Zambia Inspections Services. Notably, he was seconded to Phillip Morris, North DRC, where he excelled as the Regional Projects Manager.
 
Allie’s multifaceted background equips him with a unique perspective as he drives cooperative development in the Central and Northern Regions, contributing to MAFECO’s mission of fostering sustainable growth.

Phaskani Nyirenda

Finance And Administration Officer

Introducing Phaskani Nyirenda, the proficient Finance and Administration Officer at MAFECO. Armed with a Bachelor of Accounting & Finance, Phaskani brings a wealth of financial acumen and administrative expertise to his pivotal role.

Before joining MAFECO, Phaskani honed his skills at the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI), where he served as an Accounts Assistant. His journey continued at NASCOMEX Limited, where he excelled as a Commodity Trading Officer, showcasing his proficiency in the intricacies of commodity trading. Subsequently, at MASAF, he served as a Projects Justification Officer, further enriching his experience in project management.

Phaskani’s diverse background and experience in commodity trading, accounting, and finance make him a valuable asset to MAFECO, contributing to the organization’s financial stability and operational excellence.

Jeruzye Munthali

Project Manager

Meet Jeruzye Munthali, the dedicated Project Manager spearheading the Ubale Project at MAFECO. Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Jeruzye possesses a diverse educational background that includes a Diploma in Agribusiness Management, a Diploma in Business Management, a Certificate in Climate Smart Agriculture, and a Certificate in Governance and Public Management.
 
Jeruzye’s comprehensive skill set and commitment to excellence make him a valuable asset to our team. With a keen understanding of business administration and agribusiness management, he navigates the complex landscape of the Ubale Project, ensuring its success through strategic planning and effective project management.

Linda Kalima

Cooperative Development Officer (Intern)

Linda Kalima is a dynamic and dedicated Cooperative Development Officer Intern, contributing valuable insights and energy to the MAFECO team. Her internship role involves actively engaging in cooperative development initiatives, where she demonstrates a keen interest in fostering collaboration and sustainable growth within cooperatives. 

During her internship, Linda has shown a proactive approach to learning and has applied cooperative development principles. She actively participates in the design and implementation of strategies to enhance the effectiveness of cooperatives. Linda’s role involves collaborating with team members to facilitate training programs, workshops, and outreach efforts, aimed at empowering cooperative members and fostering community developmet

Grace Phillip

Cooperative Development Officer (Intern)

 

Grace Phillip, as a Cooperative Development Officer Intern, brings a dynamic and dedicated approach to her role within the MAFECO team. Her commitment to cooperative development is evident in her active participation and enthusiasm for contributing to the growth and sustainability of cooperatives. 

In addition to her hands-on experience, Grace is actively pursuing her academic goals to deepen her knowledge of cooperative development. This combination of practical experience and ongoing education equips her with a well-rounded skill set for addressing the challenges and opportunities within the cooperative sector.
